Happy Alley
(1996-2003)

Opposite Angel Alley stands another alleyway leading to Ile Ife Park. In 1996, inspired by the energy and innocence of some of the angelic pictures created by the children at The Village, Lily Yeh decided to create a mural with those images. James (Big Man) Maxton mosaicked the mural with a group of teens in the summer work program. The images brought people joy and happiness so we decided to call the project Happy Alley.

In 2003 Lily Yeh created a mural composed of child angels on the north side of Happy Alley. The images in this mural are based on the works created by youth in her various workshops at The Village and in Korogocho, Nairobi.
