Celebrating and bringing home our beloved theater director German Wilson at the Village of Arts and Humanities
Mr. G, the affectionate name given to him by the teens youth theater program, lit up the Village community for decades with energy, vision, and joy. His passion for theater and his deep care for people – especially the young – have touched, inspired, and transformed countless lives. This mural celebrates his talent, creativity, generosity, and his heart full of love.
– Tribute from Lily Yeh, co-founder of the Village of Arts and Humanities
Designed by Yeh and painted by muralist Felix St. Fort, the mural was dedicated on June 23, 2022 by a congregation of friends, colleagues, former youth theater members and their families, and Councilwoman Helen Gym.
The high point of the ceremony was the scattering of German’s ashes in the Village’s beautiful gardens. We felt grateful that we were able to bring German home to rest in his beloved Village of art and heart.
